- EXHIBITIONS & EVENTS
The Ural Industrial Biennial is one of the outstanding cultural events in Russia and in the Ural region. It is very important for the organizers of the event that it is accessible for everyone and that the program is inclusive.
One of the main goals of the Biennial is to redefine the industrial heritage of the region. That is why the exhibitions are held at the plants’ territory, factory floors and other spaces that can not be considered accessible for everyone. Unfortunately, it is impossible for our team to upgrade the accessibility of those spaces in the short time that we are given for the venue preparation. But if you are in need of mobility assistance or any kind of help, you are welcome to request it from the security, administrators or exhibition attendants. We thank you for your understanding.
Vision-impaired and blind visitors are welcome to access the venue and the exhibition with their guide dogs. A bowl for water for the dog is available at the main entrance.
SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETATION
Some events of the Biennial public program are accompanied by Russian sign language interpretation. Please check our calendar for updates.
Our specialized tours of the exhibitions are developed based on the features of sensory perception of visitors with disabilities. Free tours and game-based activities are available on set dates with prior group booking.
AUDIENCE INVOLVEMENT PROJECTS
These projects are aimed at involving specific communities or social groups, which, by their own definition, are usually excluded from the context of contemporary culture. The Biennial invites all visitors to share their opinions and take part in discussions and co-creation, which helps to better reveal the meanings of art projects and contemporary art to be understood even by those who consider it to be “not for them.”
