This project by the Swiss artist Bernard Garo is based on the comprehension of two environments: nature and architecture. The elements of each are formed in the rhythms and correlations of surfaces and cavities. The unity of visual language that Garo uses for creating images of the natural and the artificial in his paintings reflects the constant mutual transitions of nature and architecture through the processes of erosion and ruin. Four large painting series are devoted to different stages in these transformations. In his large-scale paintings, the artist records episodes of the endless process of depths and surfaces trading places, embodying immortality.
